Living Stones Reno – Worship Director
Ministry Boost, Reno, NV, United States
Living Stones Reno is looking for a Worship Director who can lead from the stage and bring musical culture to our church through the formation of bands, artistry, and development of new leaders. The right person will care deeply about theological worship and various musical styles. They will create a musical worship environment on Sunday mornings that empowers musicians and leads people into God’s presence through a liturgical service. Reno is one of the least-churched cities in the country, so this role matters — you must be passionate about reaching people that are far from God.
Requirements
Musical Leader:
A gifted musician who can confidently lead from the stage. They know how to guide a band, shape arrangements, and lead people in worship with both musical excellence and pastoral awareness.
Worship Diversity:
Passionate about creating cultural diversity in worship. Understands how to shape a worship gathering. They think theologically and musically about songs, scripture, and transitions so the entire service moves with clarity and purpose.
Culture Builder:
Develops a thriving worship culture. They recruit musicians, develop leaders, and build a pipeline so the ministry keeps growing beyond themselves.
Hungry Initiator:
This leader brings ideas and improvements. They don’t wait to be told what to do — they experiment, innovate, and continually look for ways to strengthen the worship culture.
Pastoral Shepherd:
Loves lost people! Leads people, not just music. Emotionally healthy and able to shepherd. This person disciples volunteers, cares for the team spiritually, and helps musicians grow both as leaders and followers of Jesus.
Why We Love This Opportunity I love this opportunity because Living Stones is serious about the gospel and serious about reaching Reno! They’re not just looking for someone to run the music — they want someone who will build something and invest in people. Reno is a fascinating place to do ministry and this staff is fired up. It’s a spiritually curious city, but largely unchurched. This makes the mission here so important!
About Living Stones Reno Living Stones Reno is part of a family of churches across Northern Nevada focused on helping people find everything they need in Jesus. The church started with a simple conviction: teach the Bible clearly, build authentic community, and help people follow Jesus in everyday life. Over time that vision has led to multiple congregations being planted across the region.
The Reno location gathers around 1,000 people on Sundays and plays a key role in the broader Living Stones network. Their gatherings center around worship through music, prayer, Scripture, teaching, and communion. The church is deeply committed to biblical preaching and helping people understand what it actually looks like to follow Jesus in real life.
Reno itself shapes the mission. It’s widely known as one of the least-churched cities in the country, and the team talks openly about being on the front lines of gospel work. Living Stones wants to be a church that is deeply rooted in the city — helping outsiders become insiders, building disciples, and serving Reno well.
About Reno “We love living in Reno because you get the best of both worlds. It’s a growing city with great restaurants and things to do, but you’re also just minutes from the mountains, hiking, skiing, and Lake Tahoe.” Living Stones Staff
