Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of real estate closings, from the initial contract through post-closing.
Collaborate with real estate agents, lenders, and title companies to coordinate closings.
Conduct comprehensive property and legal research to ensure all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
Prepare and review closing documents, including deeds, mortgages, and settlement statements.
Ensure all legal and financial obligations are met at closing, including the payment of taxes and fees.
Track and coordinate deadlines, including contract dates, mortgage commitments, and closing dates.
Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents and correspondence related to real estate transactions.
Stay abreast of changes in real estate laws and regulations, and inform the legal team of any potential impacts on current or future transactions.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal, with a focus on closings.
Paralegal certification or equivalent is required.
Extensive knowledge of real estate law, including closings, title, and lending.
Proficient in conducting legal and property research.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to draft clear and concise legal documents and correspondence.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when preparing closing documents and conducting research.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple closings simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with real estate agents, lenders, and title companies.
Proficient in the use of real estate software and Microsoft Office Suite.
