Job Overview Reporting to the CSO, the Market President/Senior Lender provides strategic leadership to the Market President Team, SBA Team, and Mortgage Sales Team. This role guides sales strategy, customer experience, and the bank’s overall lending strategy across commercial, consumer, and mortgage portfolios. The Market President/Senior Lender sets lending goals, manages daily lending operations, and ensures strong credit culture, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management. They oversee portfolio performance and growth while maintaining accurate reporting and disciplined lending practices. The Market President/Senior Lender also develops and leads lending staff to drive high performance and strengthen relationships in local markets, delivering prudent, profitable, and community‑focused lending outcomes.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Management Accountability (LMA).
Provide expert guidance on loan structuring to ensure deals are sound, compliant, and aligned with the bank’s credit culture.
Deliver proactive market insights and relationship‑driven business development support to deepen community partnerships and identify quality lending opportunities.
Analyze borrower financials and documentation for all lending and servicing requests to ensure accuracy, creditworthiness, and adherence to policy.
Collaborate with branch and lending teams to strengthen market performance and enhance the customer experience.
Support strategic initiatives aligned with Falcon V/TO.
Develop strategies to achieve key financial metrics, including deposit and investment growth, customer acquisition and retention, and expense management.
Maintain effective communication systems across branch locations.
Generate new loan volume for the Bank.
Present portfolio performance, emerging risks, and strategic updates to the Board.
Ensure all lending activities comply with state and federal regulations.
Oversee the loan portfolio, including growth, structure, profitability, and responsibilities as a Reg O officer.
Drive a consistent customer experience across all Falcon branches.
Participate in relationship management and marketing initiatives.
Execute the deposit strategy by promoting deposit products and cash management services, including non‑interest‑bearing deposits.
Represent the Bank in community and civic activities to enhance its reputation and support market presence.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
Proven ability to develop marketing and business development skills with customers.
Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system; and word processing and spreadsheet software.
Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employees.
Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non‑standardized situations.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Current Minnesota driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage required to drive to various branches while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, or related area, required
Minimum of 15 years of experience in banking, with progressive leadership responsibility.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in commercial lending.
Proven track record of effective sales skills and leadership experience
Proven leadership or supervisory experience, required
Advanced knowledge of lending regulations and credit risk, required
Proven experience, knowledge and training in all banking activities and terminology with a strong understanding of state and federal regulations.
Knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate, and consumer loan processing.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
Proven ability to develop marketing and business development skills with customers.
Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system; and word processing and spreadsheet software.
