Job Description
As a Custom Sales Consultant, you will build strong customer relationships while selling custom modular and mobile building solutions for offices, retail spaces, medical facilities, and other commercial applications. You will develop and execute strategies to identify, pursue, and close opportunities within your assigned territory. Success in this role comes from delivering responsive service and tailored solutions that drive revenue and grow market share.

Salary range: $60K-$100K DOE + commissions & bonuses
Key Responsibilities Customer FIRST
Deliver exceptional customer service with rapid response times, proactive follow-up, and strong product knowledge to build trust and win business.
Proactively prospect and develop new business while expanding relationships with existing customers to grow revenue and drive profitability.
Identify customer needs and present modular and mobile building solutions, successfully selling and leasing products for a variety of applications.
Develop and execute territory sales strategies to generate opportunities and close profitable custom modular building projects.
Own the full sales cycle, from lead development and proposal generation to closing and post‑sale relationship management.
Build long‑term partnerships by resolving customer concerns quickly and maintaining high customer satisfaction (CSI/NPS).
Increase company visibility through networking, industry associations, and community engagement.
Sales and ProfitabilitY
Responsible for achieving individual revenue, performance, and sales goals within the assigned territory.
Meet company profit expectations for rentals, sales, and service while maintaining gross margins.
Ensure competitive pricing and follow authority guidelines for contracts and approvals.
Maintain contract compliance and complete all required documentation for handoff.
Analyze financial results and forecast revenue to support sales strategy.
Estimating and Cost Management
Estimating is a key function of the sales process; responsible for soliciting subcontractor quotes to establish project costs.
Ensure all costs assigned to quotes are substantiated through proper estimating tools or subcontractor pricing.
Develop strong relationships with transportation, installation, and service contractors.
Maintain strong partnerships with manufacturers of modular buildings.
Collaborate with the estimating team according to company methodology, involving the right stakeholders at the appropriate time.
Lead efforts to recognize and respond quickly to market changes.
Collaboration and Innovation
Collaborate with sales and construction teams to deliver the best solutions for customers.
Follow established sales processes and oversee project execution from start to finish.
Partner with marketing to support sales initiatives and improve retention.
Contribute innovative ideas and participate in team meetings and initiatives.
Communicate and implement corporate directives while demonstrating a strong commitment to “Live Our Values.”
Requirements
Understand and adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Proven experience in strategic account management and key account management.
Strong estimating skills and the ability to solicit subcontractor quotes.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to meet profit expectations while managing multiple priorities.
Team‑oriented with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of B2B sales experience required; experience in construction, modular buildings, or related industries preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Ability to travel up to 2–3 days per week as needed for customer meetings and site visits; valid driver’s license required.
Proven ability to prospect, develop new business, and close profitable deals while building long‑term customer relationships.
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously in a fast‑paced, process‑driven environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and other business tools; experience with 2D/3D design or layout software preferred.
Ability to analyze financial results, forecast revenue, and develop strategies to expand sales opportunities and increase profitability.
