What you will do Product Specialists help shape product strategy, lead regulatory and bureau implementations, and partner closely with Pricing, Actuarial, Underwriting, and IT to deliver profitable, market‑leading solutions. This is a highly visible role with real influence over product direction and long‑term growth.
Manage the end to end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and post launch optimization.
Review, manage and monitor adoption and implementation of bureau changes for assigned line of business. Provide review and support for rate/loss cost adoption and implementation.
Coordinate and collaborate with Product Forms Development, Pricing, Actuarial and Underwriting to define product pricing, profitability targets and underwriting guidelines.
Lead implementation for new and revised form changes provided by the Product Forms Development team including providing filing memorandums, filing support, rate and rule manuals and support for rate development.
Execute on product changes that support multi-year strategy and product roadmap ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Lead the research of regulatory changes and customer needs to shape product strategy and innovation. Provide support for analyzing customer data and feedback to refine existing products and develop new offerings.
Develop and maintain product documentation, policy language, rate and rule manual pages and product catalogs for all assigned products.
Directly manage or provide staff support for special projects as assigned by manager.
Responsible for final maintenance and new product requirements, user stories and specifications in collaboration with IT and other stakeholders.
Provide support to H.O. and regional personnel for rate, rule and form inquiries and interpretations.
Work closely with all departments to ensure timely creation of products and systems for delivery to our customers and to the public.
Assist with regional personnel on training needs to promote our programs’ competitive advantages.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Conforms with all corporate policies and procedures.
What you need
5+ years experience in a commercial lines role preferred
Commercial Auto Experience Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent business experience.
Candidates that do not meet the above experience/education may be considered as a Product Specialist I or Product Specialist II based on their overall experience/skills relevant to the role.
Location New Hartford, NY or Charlotte, NC
Hybrid Hybrid work arrangement; may consider remote.
Salary Range
Senior Product Specialist: $90,300 - $127,000
Product Specialist II: $84,000 - $103,000
Product Specialist I: $62,354 - $88,600
