R4821FUNCTION: Working under the Director of Business Banking and NH Commercial Team Lead, the Portfolio Manager works directly with all Business Banking Relationship Managers and is responsible for credit delivery, administration, and related servicing necessary for effective client retention and cross-sales activities.**ACCOUNTABILITIES****:****Portfolio Management:*** Provides overall portfolio support to Business Banking team.* Works with RM’s in handling the credit administrative aspects of their respective portfolios, allowing the RM more time to focus on business development efforts and new client acquisition.* Works closely with the RM and the Credit Department to facilitate loan modifications, renewals and annual reviews.* Works closely with RM’s and the Real Estate Valuation Department on the ordering of real estate appraisals and evaluations.* Serves as “out of office” resource for RM’s, fielding applications, setting appointments, and solving customer service issues.* Provides system support as needed (Abrigo, etc.)* On selected transactions, particularly SBA loans and Construction Loans, reviews the initial loan request with the RM and Loan Administrator.

Works with the RM and Loan Administrator with regards to loan documentation, loan settlement and disbursement, documentation exception follow-up, resolution of operations problems, loan closing preparations and risk management mitigation.* Prepares Risk Rating upgrades and downgrades on troubled assets, working with the RM and Special Assets group to resolve issues.* Is a problem solver for operational issues between Relationship Managers, Loan Administration and Loan Services.* Works closely with the compliance team to ensure policy and procedures are being followed and issues resolved accordingly.* Conducts appropriate annual CRE reviews if required by policy.* Serves as a resource for Retail RM’s who have basic questions regarding documentation requirements.**Compliance and Control:*** Assists in ensuring that the Bank is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.**General:*** Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.* Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook.* Performs additional duties as requested.**Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:**

* Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree helpful.* 5+ years of banking/commercial lending or credit experience with proven skills and demonstrated abilities preferred.* Understanding of commercial credit delivery and related policies and procedures.* Loan structuring, documentation, underwriting, and credit skills required.* Proven customer service skills.* Personal computer literacy.* Solid problem solving skills.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.* Strong organization skills with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.* Ability to coordinate multiple projects and satisfy deadlines.* Share the same sense of urgency with “team” members combined with the desire to exceed customer expectations.* Driver’s license and transportation required.**Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements**:* General office environment.* Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required.
