About the Role
We are seeking a confident, hands-on Program Director to lead our Signal Hill Day Program , a community-based service site that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is an operational leadership role, not an administrative one. It is not behind a desk; it is a visible, engaged position that requires strong supervision, decisive leadership, and the ability to bring structure and stability to a growing program.
As Program Director, you will oversee daily operations, lead and mentor Direct Support Professionals, and ensure services remain person-centered, compliant, and goal-driven. You will collaborate closely with Regional Center, Community Care Licensing, families, and community partners while building a culture rooted in accountability and teamwork.

What You'll Do
- Lead daily operations, staffing, scheduling, payroll, and budget oversight
- Supervise, coach, and develop Direct Support Professionals
- Implement person-centered service plans and behavior support strategies
- Ensure regulatory compliance with Title 17, Title 22, and Community Care Licensing standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and oversee quality assurance efforts
- Partner with families, Regional Center, Community Care Licensing, residential providers, and other community partners
- Develop engaging, workshop-style activities that promote independence and life skills
- Support behavioral interventions and model best practices
- Oversee facility management and program environment
- Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and performance

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (e.g., Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services) is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human services delivery system, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
- At least 2 years of experience or training in one of the following: care and supervision of individuals in an adult day program or residential facility/home; care and supervision of individuals similar to those served in this day program
- Experience working with Regional Centers, Community Care Licensing, and knowledge of Title 22 and Title 17 regulations
- Experience developing and implementing individual programs
- Skilled at training, coaching, and earning the trust of Direct Support Professionals
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds
- Physician’s clearance and TB test clearance
Hours
- Full-time exempt position (40 hours per week). Flexibility to accommodate program, individual, and staff needs

- Full Range Scale: $70,800 to $78,915 (starting rate $70,800; salary increases based on tenure)
