is seeking a qualified Government/B2B/Education Sales Team Manager who can facilitate growth and development with their own sales skills as well as leadership of a team of government sales associates. The ideal government sales manager has deep experience with the GSA and open market bidding process, excelling at lead generation, and deal closing. We’re looking for a quick learner who has proven success in federal/state/local government sales — someone with a successful track record. The role demands a leader who has a sharp mind and the ability to coach, advise, motivate, or replace government sales associates on the way to building and maintaining a high-performance team.

Responsibilities

  • Run a direct sales team focusing on state & local government, education, and corporate customers
  • Develop strategies and tactical plans to increase sales/profits in the government channel
  • Develop and maintain relationships at the highest levels of the target accounts
  • Complete the major steps of the sales process including finding new business opportunities, qualifying new opportunities, and closing new business
  • Create detailed business plans to increase bid/proposal submissions and bids awarded
  • Complete oversight of all GSA portal orders
  • Supply creative ideas and participate in marketing events
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen third-party relationships
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from finding a client to securing a deal
  • Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and turn them into long-term partnerships
  • Remain in frequent contact with the clients in your responsibility to understand their needs
  • Responding to complaints and resolving issues aimed at customer contentment and the preservation of the company’s reputation
  • Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data

Qualifications

  • Previous government sales experience (photography sales experience is a huge plus)
  • Proven experience as a Government Sales Manager, or in related B2B sales/leadership role
  • Knowledge of market trends, sales and negotiating principles
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of CRM software is a plus
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
  • Organizational and me-management skills

  • Highly motivated self-started with the ability to achieve business goals within a fast-paced working environment
  • BS or BA in business administration, sales or marketing
