Context The FinOp’s department is a Business Control and Middle Office organization within S&EM. The Market Access Middle Office (MO Market Access) acts as a Support Function to the Market Access Business Platform as well as to other Business Platforms by analyzing their trading and origination activities.
The Market Access platform includes:
Market Making
activity (interaction with Sales handling the client portfolio)
Internal Risk Management
activity (hedging of positions taken by other BPs on energy commodity markets)
Middle Office Market Access contributes to:
The production of S&EM's economic result
Valorization of positions
Reporting and control processes
Monthly closings
The scope covers
vanilla and complex products in Oil, Gas, Power and Emissions , giving exposure to a large, diversified portfolio. The team interacts closely with Front Office and Finance teams based in
Europe, the US and Singapore .
Your Mission Within our team, your main responsibilities will include:
Producing the
daily economic P&L , ensuring its consistency and integrity, mainly on the Gas, Oil and Power perimeters
Analyzing
Mark‑to‑Market valuations
of Front Office transactions
Controlling and explaining P&L through key risk indicators (Greeks, MtM evolution, market parameters, exposures)
Analyzing and explaining trader and sales performance through dedicated reports (P&L, value created at inception, volumes traded)
Conducting profitability and strategy analyses (products, clients, or specific trading strategies)
Providing operational support to Front Office teams
Handling
ad‑hoc requests
from Front Office or Management
Participating in
end‑of‑month closings
and contributing to specific controls
Managing the
Front Office book structure
What we are looking for We are looking for someone who is analytical, rigorous, curious and motivated by working in a dynamic trading environment. You enjoy interacting with various stakeholders and have a strong appetite for financial markets, particularly commodities.
Knowledge in
Market Finance / Quantitative Finance
Understanding of trading room activities: Back Office, Middle Office, Market Risk, Sales, Trading Assistance
Ability to compute and analyze
P&L , MtM, Greeks, exposures
Technical skills appreciated:
VBA, Python, Dataiku
Good command of standard Office tools and financial concepts
Rigorous and detail‑oriented
Strong analytical capacity
Fast learner and curious
Team spirit and collaborative mindset
Ability to work efficiently with multiple stakeholders (Front Office, Back Office, Finance, Risk)
Comfortable in an international environment
Education & Experience
Degree in
Market Finance or Quantitative Finance
(engineering school, university, business school)
First experience in a similar area is a plus (Back Office, Middle Office, Market Risk, Sales, Trading Assistant)
Interest in
commodities markets operations
is strongly appreciated
