Account Manager
CIS Private Client by Custom Insurance Solutions, Lehi, UT, United States
The Opportunity
CIS Private Client is a high-net-worth personal lines insurance practice serving affluent families in all 50 states. We’re not a call center. We’re not a quote shop. We are a risk advisory firm that builds long‑term relationships with families who have complex insurance needs—multi‑million‑dollar homes, fine art and jewelry collections, luxury vehicles, significant liability exposures, and the kind of lifestyles that require thoughtful, proactive protection.
We work with elite carriers—PURE, Chubb, Cincinnati, Berkley One, and Selective—and we operate under a philosophy we call the Four Pillars of Risk Management: Reduce, Transfer, Avoid, and Retain. Our founder literally wrote the book on it (Fortified: The Affluent’s Guide to Protecting Wealth, Lifestyle, and Legacy).
Responsibilities What You’ll Actually Do Client Communication & Service
Answer every client call within three rings. We don’t use phone trees.
Respond to all client emails within four business hours—same business day, every time.
Review client files before returning calls so you have full context and continuity.
Execute 30‑day, 60‑day, and 90‑day new client onboarding touchpoints in coordination with the Risk Advisor.
Conduct quarterly proactive check‑in calls with assigned client households.
Send birthday acknowledgments, life event congratulations, and seasonal communications.
Policy Servicing & Renewals
Process all policy endorsements, changes, and updates accurately and promptly.
Handle certificates of insurance, evidence of insurance, and lender requests.
Begin renewal preparation 45 days before expiration—pulling current policies, loss runs, and preparing comparison materials for the Risk Advisor’s annual review.
Coordinate remarketing efforts when directed, gathering quotes and building side‑by‑side comparisons.
Process new business applications and ensure clean, complete submissions to carriers.
Claims Coordination
Serve as the client’s first point of contact for claims intake and triage.
Report claims promptly to the appropriate carrier and document all details in our management system.
Provide regular status updates to clients throughout the claims process.
Escalate complex or high‑value claims to the Risk Advisor for strategic advocacy.
Record‑Keeping & Documentation
Document all client interactions in our agency management system within 24 hours.
Maintain complete, accurate client records—contact information, policy details, household notes, and communication history.
Keep renewal calendars, task lists, and follow‑up workflows current and organized.
Proactive Outreach
Send weather alerts, market updates, and risk‑relevant communications to clients when appropriate.
Identify opportunities where a client may need additional coverage during routine service interactions and flag them for the Risk Advisor.
Anticipate client needs based on life events—renovations, new vehicles, children approaching driving age—and reach out before they have to ask.
Qualifications Who Thrives in This Role
An experienced insurance professional who’s tired of processing high‑volume, low‑touch business and wants to work with fewer, more sophisticated clients.
A detail‑oriented operator who finds satisfaction in getting every endorsement right, every file organized, and every follow‑up completed on time.
Someone from a luxury hospitality, private banking, or concierge background who understands how affluent clients expect to be treated.
A natural communicator who can speak confidently with successful professionals and their families.
Someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to do—you see what needs to happen and you handle it.
Required
Active Utah Property & Casualty insurance license (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire—we’ll assist with the process).
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Our clients are executives, business owners, and professionals—your communication needs to match.
Comfortable with technology—you’ll use multiple software platforms daily to manage client accounts, communicate with insurance companies, and keep everything organized.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable handling confidential client information.
Preferred
2+ years of experience in personal lines insurance servicing.
Experience with high‑net‑worth or specialty insurance carriers (PURE, Chubb, Cincinnati, AIG, Berkley One).
Experience using agency management software to track client accounts and workflows.
CISR designation or progress toward it.
Additional Information
Base salary: $42,000–$50,000 depending on experience and licensure.
Unlimited PTO.
Monthly team growth bonus.
Professional development support including licensing assistance and designation pursuit.
A team culture built on excellence, not volume—we serve fewer clients at a much higher standard.
Why CIS Private Client Most insurance agencies measure success by how many policies they can push through the door. We measure success by the depth of the relationships we build and the quality of the protection we deliver. Our clients stay because they trust us, and they refer their friends and colleagues because they’ve never experienced anything like what we do.
You’ll work alongside a small, dedicated team led by Ben Walker, CPRM, CPRIA—a published author and nationally recognized risk advisor who built this practice on the belief that affluent families deserve better than what most of the insurance industry offers. You’ll learn the craft of high‑net‑worth risk management, work with the best carriers in the business, and build a career that most insurance professionals don’t even know exists.
