
Quantitative Mortgage Lending Analyst

The Quantitative Mortgage Lending Analyst will play a pivotal role in enhancing our residential mortgage lending data analysis, which encompasses marketing, customer engagement, pricing analytics, P&L, and market-trend insights. You will modernize our analytics toolkit and integrate Carrington Capital Management's investor-grade analytics platform with our lending affiliate. This position focuses on adapting proprietary models for lending use cases, incorporating lending performance into our ecosystem, and delivering actionable insights for capital-markets and investor initiatives. Your work will be conducted in alignment with company policies and compliance with all relevant US state and federal laws.
Your Responsibilities:
Data Ownership:
Clean, reorganize, and harmonize datasets related to loan origination, servicing, marketing, and customers to derive actionable signals and performance metrics. Model Integration:
Develop interfaces to implement CCM's existing pricing, prepayment, and credit-risk models within our lending platform. Performance Analytics:
Feed lending performance and P&L results into the analytics ecosystem to inform investor reporting. Dashboards and Reporting:
Create and maintain self-service dashboards and reports to monitor key lending metrics such as recapture rates, marketing ROI, pricing variance, and market trends. Performance Analysis:
Prepare and present performance reports to senior management and gather feedback from loan officers to enhance analytics and strategies. Collaboration:
Work closely with pricing, portfolio, investor-relations, and capital-markets teams to transform analytics into effective lending strategies. Automation:
Streamline data pipelines, standardize definitions across systems, and deploy scalable analytics tools. Cross-Functional Cooperation:
Collaborate with IT, CRM, operations, and vendors to ensure data reliability and timely insights delivery. Ad-hoc Analysis:
Swiftly respond to unique requests from management, investors, and divisions. Perform additional duties as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance). A minimum of one year of experience in mortgage-lending analytics or a related role, although strong candidates with relevant programming skills may also apply. Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis; familiarity with machine learning techniques is a plus. Ability to adapt and deploy proprietary quantitative models, including experience in writing wrappers or APIs for analytics integration. Expertise in organizing unstructured marketing/customer data, particularly in data cleaning and ETL processes. Experience in creating self-service dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau or similar). Understanding of loan-origination and servicing workflows, especially for customer recapture mechanisms. Exceptional communication skills to convey complex analytics in clear terms to non-technical stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Solid background in mathematics and statistics. Hands-on experience with Python and statistical packages for analyzing large datasets. Familiarity with machine learning techniques and a grasp of underlying algorithms. Preferred experience in Linux environments. Highly driven, team-oriented, quick learner with strong interpersonal skills.
