The Opportunity:
We are seeking a full time Loan Documentation Specialist to join our team in Michigan. This position will d etermine requirements and review, analyze and complete due diligence associated with the commercial loan documentation and closing process.
WhatYou’llDo:
Receive,reviewand analyze credit approvals todeterminetheappropriate loandocumentation and due diligence requirements.
Verify that sufficient lending authority was obtained on the loan approval.
Maintain knowledge of business entity structures and obtain and review entity documents todeterminethe parties thatare authorized tobind the entity to the loan transaction.
Produce and obtainappropriate documentationin compliance with the terms of loan requests, includingtitle commitments, title searches, UCC searches, evaluations or real estate appraisals, environmental reports, flood determinations, proof of insurance,surveysand entity documents.
Apply credit policy and procedures to transactions to mitigate risk.
Maintain knowledge of business compliance regulations.
Coordinate effort to engage andfinalizepreparationof loan documents by internal and external counsel.
Ensure that loan documents prepared inLaserProor by outside counsel areaccurateandin accordance withthe approved terms.
Determinewhen underwriting approval conditions for the loan closing have been satisfied.
Obtain fundinginformation and create/review the settlement statement providing directionfor loan proceeds.
Determineappropriate loancoding needed for portfolio and regulatory reporting purposes.
Work with lending operations to ensure loans are properly booked and managed in DNA.
Meet expected service levels related to due diligence,closingsand periodic review requirements.
WhatYou’llNeed:
Associate degree or equivalent work experience.Bachelor'sdegree preferred.
More than 5 years’ experience in processing commercial loans.
Strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation and requirements.
Knowledge of commercial banking and lending credit policy and guidelines.
Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft 365.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able toinitiateand embrace change.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication and ability to work in a team environment.
Work occasional Saturday hours or extended weekday hours, asrequired.
