Min Hourly Rate: $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro)

Max Hourly Rate: $17.50 (Standard); $17.00 (Non-Urban); $18.50 (Portland Metro)

Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Marketing & Outreach Assistant for the Global Opportunities at Oregon State University ( OSU ).

In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below:

Position Duties

Designing digital and print promotional materials

Creating email newsletters

Writing blog posts and feature stories

Drafting student spotlights

Collecting and editing photo/video content

Organizing marketing asset libraries (student photos from study abroad, logos, etc.)

Accessing and handling confidential student application materials

Electronic file management and data entry, photocopying, scanning, uploading electronic documents.

Tabling at campus events

Coordinate with other units on campus to promote events relative to OSU GO’s missions and goals.

Communicate with students about deadlines and missing information.

Schedule meetings, class visits, internationally-focused workshops and program information sessions, and take care of event logistics (room bookings, catering, outreach, etc.).

Monitor the general informational email inbox, process incoming forms and submissions, distribute inquiries to appropriate staff.

Communicate with students as needed, and with guidance from supervisor/ OSU GO staff.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS ). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services ( OIS ), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications

Experience creating content for social media platforms, including Instagram and LinkedIn.

Strong writing and proofreading skills for creating content across digital and print media.

Ability to organize digital assets like photos, quotes, promotional material, etc. in an easily accessible system.

Experience conducting basic market research and applying findings to campaign strategies.

Ability to adapt tone and voice to different platforms and target audiences.

Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines for time-critical projects.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and as part of a team.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in marketing content and campaigns.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience in creating and editing webpages in Drupal.

Experience with social media management systems like Later, Hootsuite, Sprout, etc.

Knowledge of email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact.

Experience creating accessible and inclusive digital content.

Experience with in-person marketing and event promotion, including campus tabling, presentations, and collaborating with student organizations.

A personal interest in international education and cross-cultural experiences.

An understanding of social media analytics.
