Purpose of the Job The Copy Editor reviews all print and digital marketing pieces ensuring that all review comments have been correctly incorporated. The Copy Editor is accountable for ensuring clarity, spelling, grammar, alignment with in-house Brand Style Guide and AMA style.
Key Responsibilities
The Copy Editor is responsible for the comprehensive review of all outgoing/internal work. The projects include websites, advertisements, promotional materials, email, and other collateral.
Performing detailed review (word-for-word) of the material at all stages.
Engages in content review during Pre-review, QA review, and Production Proof review.
Verifying that no other changes (i.e., changes that were not requested) were made to content.
Comparing the production proof to the final version to ensure the content is consistent.
Production proof digital assets are reviewed in the staging environment to ensure that the content matches what was approved in Vault.
Liaise with PRMs and review team throughout life of the asset.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
5+ plus years of copy editing and proofreading experience.
Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet multiple deadlines in a high-production environment.
Exhibits strong written/verbal communication and critical thinking skills.
Pharmaceutical copy-editing experience preferred.
Agency background a plus.
Knowledge of Veeva Vault a plus.
