Senior Compliance Specialist, QHSE, Road US

The Senior Compliance Specialist, QHSE is responsible for supporting compliance with applicable Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) regulations, standards, and internal policies within DSV's transportation and logistics operations. This role partners with operational leadership and functional teams to monitor regulatory compliance, conduct risk assessments, support investigations, and assist with the implementation of corporate QHSE programs and initiatives. The role provides subject matter expertise and regulatory guidance to operational leadership on QHSE compliance matters and supports the development of strategies to mitigate risk and improve compliance performance. This position supports the ongoing development and maintenance of the QHSE management system while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance across operational locations. Duties & Responsibilities: Analyze QHSE performance data and support initiatives designed to improve safety, environmental, and quality performance across assigned operations. Conduct QHSE assessments including risk assessments, environmental aspects and impacts assessments, and operational compliance reviews. Participate in accident and incident investigations, including environmental incidents, ensuring corrective actions are identified, implemented, and properly documented. Evaluate operational practices against regulatory requirements and corporate QHSE standards, providing recommendations to leadership to mitigate risk and improve compliance performance. Support identification and monitoring of applicable local, state, and federal QHSE regulations to ensure operational compliance. Interpret applicable regulatory requirements and assist in developing policies, procedures, and operational controls to ensure ongoing compliance with QHSE standards. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Corporate QHSE Management System across operational locations. Support the development and coordination of QHSE training programs for operational teams. Monitor customer, regulatory, and industry QHSE requirements and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders. Establish and implement site processes and systems aligned with ISO-based standards, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable ISO requirements and organizational policies. Coordinate environmental and sustainability initiatives, including eco-consumption data collection and sustainability campaign participation. Participate in internal and external QHSE audits and assist in corrective action planning and follow-up. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to compliance activities, investigations, and audits. Travel approximately 1020% to support operational locations. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, safety, environmental management, or a related field within transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations. Experience supporting regulatory compliance programs, safety initiatives, or environmental management systems. Experience supporting or implementing QHSE management systems is preferred. Knowledge of freight forwarding, brokerage, transportation, or supply chain operations is beneficial. Professional certifications related to safety, environmental management, compliance, or auditing are a plus. Skills & Competencies: Knowledge of QHSE standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 and continuous improvement principles. Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to transportation, logistics, and workplace safety. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret compliance data and identify improvement opportunities. Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, policies, and procedures. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing and adapt communication style to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels, including frontline employees, supervisors, and senior leadership. Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to influence operational teams and support implementation of compliance initiatives. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with compliance management, safety reporting, or audit tracking systems is beneficial. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Physical Demands: The employee must be able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. The role also requires the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout office, warehouse, terminal, and other operational environments as needed. The employee may occasionally be required to lift or move items up to 25 pounds. The position requires the ability to travel to various operational sites and safely navigate industrial environments. Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and other standard office equipment is required. The employee must also be able to observe and assess workplace conditions during site visits and compliance reviews. Work Environment: Work is performed in a combination of office settings and operational environments, including warehouses, terminals, and transportation facilities. Site visits may involve exposure to moving equipment, industrial machinery, varying noise levels, and outdoor weather conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when visiting operational locations. This role may require travel of approximately 1020% to support compliance reviews, audits, and operational initiatives across multiple locations. The work schedule may occasionally require flexibility to support operational needs.
