Department Summary Well-Being & Recreation (WBR) is looking for a creative and detail-oriented student graphic designer to help bring our programs and services to life visually. You’ll design materials ranging from social media graphics and digital screen displays to print pieces like banners, flyers, and posters—all within Ohio University and WBR brand standards. This is a great opportunity to grow your design skills and build a professional portfolio in a collaborative, student-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design graphics for social media, digital screens, and print materials (flyers, banners, posters, brochures) across WBR’s departments.

Ensure all materials follow WBR and Ohio University brand standards, including correct use of logos, colors, typography, and tone.

Work with the social media specialist, photographer/videographer, and marketing staff to align assets with campaign needs and timelines.

Prepare and submit files for print jobs through Ohio University Printing Services.

Manage multiple design requests at once, prioritizing tasks and communicating proactively about timelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post‑secondary education institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or immediate upcoming semester.

Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines.

Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a student at Ohio University in good academic standing.

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

Understanding of core design principles: layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy.

Ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and incorporate feedback.

Good communication skills and a collaborative, professional attitude.

Majoring in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.

Familiarity with WBR or campus recreation through participation or prior employment.

Experience designing for both print and digital formats.
