Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and San Diego . The show celebrates the people, places, food, culture, and stories that define California, delivering engaging, service-driven, and entertaining content across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social platforms. Role Overview California Live is seeking a
Digital Producer
to oversee and execute the show’s social and digital strategy across platforms. This role is responsible for driving audience growth, engagement, and brand consistency for California Live in all three markets, while supporting the live broadcast with smart, timely, and platform-appropriate digital storytelling. The Digital Producer is a hands-on content creator and editor with strong news and lifestyle judgment, deep understanding of social and digital platforms, and the ability to lead day-to-day digital execution while collaborating closely with show producers, talent, marketing, and station teams. This role requires a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, live-TV environment and understands how to translate on-air moments into high-performing digital content in real time. Key Responsibilities Lead the digital vision and day-to-day execution for
California Live
across web, app, streaming, and social platforms. Develop and implement a cohesive, cross-market digital strategy that supports the show’s editorial goals and brand voice. Serve as the primary digital point of contact for California Live, collaborating with show producers, talent, marketing, and station digital teams. Be an advocate for the audience, ensuring content is timely, relevant, inclusive, and platform-appropriate. Content Creation & Publishing Oversee and produce daily digital content tied to live broadcasts, segments, and tentpole moments. Write, edit, and publish original lifestyle stories and companion content for digital platforms. Clip, edit, and optimize show video for social media and digital distribution. Create multimedia content including video, live streams, social-first clips, slideshows, and interactive elements. Execute publishing workflows for video, images, and text using content management systems. Social Media & Audience Growth Manage and grow California Live’s presence on
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube , and emerging platforms. Use social media as both a publishing and reporting tool to identify trends, pitch ideas, and engage audiences. Identify buzz-worthy, shareable moments from the show and capitalize on real-time trends. Work closely with marketing and sales teams to support campaigns, partnerships, and station initiatives. Analytics, SEO & Optimization Apply strong understanding of
SEO , Google Trends, and audience analytics to inform content decisions. Monitor performance in real time and adjust strategy to maximize reach, engagement, and loyalty. Use audience data to help guide content planning and longer‑term digital strategy. Collaborate with TV producers, editors, and reporters to repurpose and enrich on-air content for digital platforms. Coordinate with station digital teams in LA, the Bay Area, and San Diego to ensure alignment and best practices. Cross‑promote on‑air and digital content effectively across NBC and Telemundo platforms as appropriate. Qualifications
Minimum
3 years of experience
as a digital producer, editor, or content creator in a newsroom, lifestyle brand, or fast‑paced media environment. Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for lifestyle content. Proven experience managing social media platforms and publishing video‑first content. Solid understanding of SEO, audience development, and digital analytics. Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, including during live broadcasts. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Work Requirements Must be willing to work in
