Job Summary

We are seeking a high‑impact Sales Director with deep CPG experience and a strong track record of leading multi‑level, high‑performing field sales teams . This role is responsible for driving revenue, margin, and market share across the Pennsylvania and South Jersey markets while ensuring flawless execution in Immediate Consumption, Future Consumption, and Full‑Service On‑Premise channels.

The ideal candidate is a strategic operator and hands‑on coach, someone who excels in fast‑moving environments, leads through data, develops exceptional talent, and knows how to execute with excellence in a complex, DSD‑driven business.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Own all sales execution across assigned local, regional, and national CPG accounts in PA & South Jersey.
  • Drive performance across Immediate Consumption, Future Consumption, and Full‑Service On‑Premise channels.
  • Translate company goals into quarterly and annual sales plans with clear KPIs and accountability.
  • Ensure execution of all commercial priorities, including price, pack, programming, and calendar marketing agreements.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a multi‑layer organization, including District Managers, District Sales Managers, Account Managers, and Merchandisers.
  • Build bench strength through proactive recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Establish a performance‑driven culture rooted in accountability, talent development, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular field rides, pipeline reviews, team meetings, and performance check‑ins.

Customer Management & Growth

  • Serve as the primary connection between field sales and store‑level leadership, ensuring consistent execution and communication.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customer partners while identifying new business opportunities within the territory.
  • Lead sell‑in conversations for promotional calendars, pricing, package changes, and joint business planning.
  • Provide marketplace insights to national customer and commercial strategy teams.

Business Performance

  • Use data and insights to identify performance gaps, drive productivity, and optimize sales resources.
  • Deliver business reviews, forecasts, and performance updates to senior leadership with accuracy and insight.
  • Ensure alignment with Commercial team on pricing, packaging, and channel strategies.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of progressive sales leadership experience in CPG and Direct Store Delivery (DS D), leading multi‑level team
  • Proven experience managing complex, high‑volume retail or on‑premise account.
  • Strong CMA/Joint Business Planning expertise.
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple teams and improving performance through coaching and accountability.
  • Ability to influence a matrix organization while maintaining cross‑functional alignment.
  • Experience in a collective bargaining environment preferred.
