Role Description

Vice Presidents lead consulting teams, typically consisting of Associates, Business Analysts, senior operating executives, and client resources, and are responsible for ensuring successful engagement execution.

  • Developing issue sets to focus the hypothesized scope of engagements and transitioning them into comprehensive team work plans
  • Efficiently managing firm and client resources within compressed timeframes while adapting to evolving engagement needs
  • Guiding teams in data collection, synthesis, analysis, and conducting interviews with clients and third parties
  • Developing hypothetical solutions, testing alternative scenarios, and forming fact‑based actionable recommendations
  • Structuring and creating compelling, message‑driven written deliverables for clients
  • Conducting client presentations and fostering constructive dialogue around conclusions and recommendations
  • Building strong relationships with private equity and portfolio company clients
  • Taking a leadership role in firm growth through knowledge development, mentoring junior team members, business development, and recruiting

Desired Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • MBA and BS/BA in Engineering, Economics, or similar quantitative field from a top‑tier institution
  • 2–5 years post‑MBA experience in a top‑tier strategy consulting firm with focus on due diligence and growth strategy assignments across consumer & retail, industrials, services, infrastructure, healthcare, or technology
  • 3+ years pre‑MBA experience in strategy/operations consulting, corporate roles, investment banking, or private equity
  • Deep understanding of market, financial, operational, and organizational business concepts
  • Significant primary research experience including survey development and conducting interviews to gain market insights
  • Strong analytical capabilities including bottom‑up market sizing models for niche markets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively across senior stakeholders and client environments
  • Structured problem solver with strong attention to detail and '80/20' approach
  • Results‑oriented and client‑focused; able to perform in compressed timeframes and data‑poor situations

Compensation

Compensation range for the Strategy Vice President role: $220,000 – $300,000 base salary + performance-based bonus + 401(k) retirement plan contributions + discretionary profit‑sharing contributions + benefits.
