Position Overview
The City of Springfield is seeking a visionary Information Systems Director to help shape the future of technology throughout the city. This is more than an IT leadership role; it is an opportunity to influence how a modern municipal organization operates, collaborates, and serves its community.
The Information Systems Director will serve as a key member of the City’s leadership team and will be responsible for guiding the City’s technology strategy, operations, and digital transformation efforts. This leader must possess both strong technical expertise and the leadership ability to partner with departments across the organization as a trusted service provider and strategic advisor.

This Director role offers a flexible total compensation package including annual performance increases, city-sponsored benefits such as a defined benefit retirement plan, generous leave time, and more. You can look at that here! A anticipated minimum starting salary is $185,000, however compensation is flexible based on experience and skills.

Experience, Education, and Training
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business or Public Administration or a related discipline.
- Seven years of progressively responsible and diverse IT professional experience including managing IT projects as well as supervisory and management level experience, preferably in an IS environment.
PREFERRED
- Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration.
Licensing/Certification
- If operating a vehicle for purposes of completing job duties, must possess a valid driver's license.
