About the State Park Inns

The Indiana State Park Inns are one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country. We proudly operate seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana that offer a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally! Fort Harrison Inn is nestled on a scenic knoll within the serene Fort Harrison State Park in Lawrence, Indiana. The Inn features 28 guest rooms, the Harrison House, the Officer Homes, the Garrison Restaurant, banquet/conference space, and the Fort Golf Resort.

Role Overview

Responsible for total marketing effort for the Hotel and Conference Center. Assembles annual marketing plan with goals and objectives. Manages Sales Office personnel with execution of the Annual Marketing Plan. Ensures all required paperwork is completed. Trains and motivates Sales Office personnel. Must be able to communicate effectively with other Departmental Managers, subordinates, and guests.

Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

Job Duties

  • Completes annual marketing plan including competitive overview, past historical information, situational analysis, areas of opportunities, pricing structures, quarterly goals and action plans.
  • Conducts outside sales calls on potential corporate and conference clients.
  • Manages office personnel ensuring attainment of catering and file maintenance.
  • Monitors guest tracking for source of business and adjusts plan.
  • Conducts technical and interpersonal skill training to office personnel.
  • Creates collateral materials to support the sales effort.
  • Constantly looking for opportunity to improve Sales Department.
  • Conducts site tours as needed.
  • Recruit, select, hire, train, and develop competent personnel.
  • Submits sales reports to General Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Interact with other hotel personnel to meet objectives of the Sales Department.
  • Monitors organizational structure and conducts reviews of Sales personnel.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and monthly all employee meetings.
  • Conducts weekly departmental meeting and coordinates weekly Food Department meeting.
  • Promotes sales mentality to other departments.
  • Monitors demand periods and staffs accordingly, and institutes needed restrictions.
  • Attend and be involved in key managers meetings.
  • Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when assigned.
  • Involvement in national, regional, and local associations.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of University, four-year degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5-years’ experience in sales in high volume establishments
  • Above average interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities
