Director, Leasing/Managing Broker, Commercial Real Estate

Acquaint has been engaged to hire an experienced, growth-oriented Managing Broker to lead and expand commercial real estate brokerage operations in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving revenue through brokerage production, team development, and strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate is a licensed Broker with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of leadership in commercial real estate.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Brokerage Production

  • Proactively generate and pursue new commercial real estate business opportunities (sales, leasing, and investments).
  • Identify and cultivate clients, partnerships, and prospects that can benefit the broader company network.
  • Share or assign leads and opportunities to local brokers to optimize overall market coverage and success.
  • Leverage strategic relationships and creative business channels to expand the firm’s market footprint.

Strategic Growth & Diversification

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute growth strategies that extend beyond brokerage—such as construction management, asset repositioning, or advisory services.
  • Integrate the company’s ancillary service lines to create additional revenue streams and client value.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and economic shifts to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Manage and mentor a team of commercial agents and support staff, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Work closely with the Chief Leasing Officer to recruit, onboard, and develop top brokerage talent.
  • Support agents in achieving production goals, maintaining compliance, and enhancing professional skills.
  • Ensure all brokerage activities comply with Virginia state regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia and Washington, DC Real Estate Broker’s Licenses (required).
  • Active Associate Maryland Real Estate Broker's License (required).
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, or related services.
  • Proven ability to generate business and close transactions in the commercial real estate sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing or mentoring brokerage professionals.
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated success in business development and diversification initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
