Senior US Economist (Financial / Start-Up)

$200,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

About the Company

Our client is a start‑up Financial/Research Firm based in Midtown NYC seeking to add a Senior Economist to their US Research Team. Reporting to the Head of Research/Economic Data this role will provide strategic and financial research for the firm’s Senior Stakeholders/Investors. Ideal individual should be well versed with using complex financial data to support global macro/economic investment research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement research to understand new markets and opportunities which
• Design and implement a high‑impact engagement strategy for sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds, and other asset owners and institutional investors.
• Oversee analytical agenda, in partnership with other teams, analytics groups in other lines of business
• Lead and analyze the production of the U.S. forecast including managing and maintaining the US Macroeconomic Model.
• Complement our existing business and create opportunities for growth
• Conduct analysis of macroeconomic data, political developments and geopolitical news in key geographic areas
• Keep abreast of theoretical and empirical developments,
• Deliver custom solutions across a growing portfolio of strategic sites in key markets across the United States and beyond
• Interpret their meaning for financial data points and presents findings to the Executive Team
• Responding to Stakeholders internal queries about our economic outlook and forecasts would also be expected
• Deliver bespoke research projects that influence executive decision‑making across brand, product, institutional solutions, and affiliated distribution topics
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on market research findings.
• Identify areas of a case for development and strategizes and oversees complex analyses
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in target markets.
• Manage strategic projects to identify new business opportunities and support growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement market solutions.
• Manage, update, maintain a set of recurring analytics packages
• Support ad‑hoc analysis to support team or business initiatives
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Economic Services/ Consulting /Strategic Operations or a related field.
• Strong and well‑developed analytic, problem‑solving and quantitative skill, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Credit/Rating Agency experience preferred
• Demonstrated people leadership / management.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to support the business's growth and profitability objectives.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
• Experience in performing complex problem solving and business trade off decision analysis.
• Results‑orientation with an ability to take initiative, execute and complete deliverables in a timely manner.
