Director of Originations - Real Estate Private Credit

Selby Jennings has been engaged by an institutional-sized credit firm in Dallas to find a VP, Director, or Senior Director to join their direct lending team. They are seeking a seasoned professional to join a dynamic investment team focused on sourcing high-yield private credit opportunities. This role centers on identifying and securing land development investments, primarily across Texas and the broader Sunbelt region.
Responsibilities
- Origination: Drive the full lifecycle of sourcing and closing high-yield debt transactions.
- Execution: Apply deep expertise in risk underwriting and complex deal structuring to support portfolio growth.
- Relationship Building: Leverage established connections with real estate developers to expand market presence in residential and commercial sectors.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Success: Demonstrated ability to originate and close high-yield private credit deals.
- Industry Network: Strong relationships within the real estate development community.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assist in preparing and presenting credit recommendations for approval committees.
- Experience with MUDs will be highly favored but not mandatory.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field (required)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial advisory, real estate development, or investment banking
- Advanced degree preferred; CPA or CFA a plus
