Our client is a fashion wholesaler company. They seek a Director of Finance to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage a structured monthly close process with defined timelines and accountability
- Verify accurate alignment of revenue, costs, and operating expenses, ensuring balance sheet integrity
- Produce timely financial statements and management reporting for operational and strategic decisions
- Develop and implement robust inventory accounting procedures to ensure accurate COGS recognition and margin tracking
- Enhance reconciliation between inventory systems and the general ledger, improving financial transparency
- Lead improvements in finance systems and data flow, automating manual processes and integrating operational platforms
- Implement scalable workflows for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting, working with ERP vendors and consultants
- Supervise accounting and finance staff, establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability
- Foster a culture of disciplined financial operations, continuous improvement, and team development
- Provide financial insight into operational performance, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and margin improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 8-15 years of accounting experience
- Wholesale or similar industry required
- Inventory experience
- Strong technology experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
