Job Overview
The Senior Director, AI Strategy & Enablement defines Macy’s enterprise AI direction by centralizing prioritization and guiding the company toward the highest‑value, insight‑driven opportunities. This role drives alignment across business and technology leaders, advances proof‑of‑concepts through clear criteria, strong governance, and disciplined decisioning. It elevates colleague capability by enabling enterprise AI tools, building workforce literacy, and shaping responsible, confident adoption standards. The result is a coordinated, future‑ready AI ecosystem that sharpens decision‑making, strengthens operations, and enhances the customer experience.
What You Will Do
- Lead, mentor, coach managers and individual contributors reporting to this position and actively raise the talent bar across the Enterprise Data & Analytics Team.
- Inspire and influence senior leaders to embrace AI‑driven transformation across the enterprise.
- Develop and communicate Macy’s AI strategy and roadmap aligned with business priorities to the AI council and across the organization.
- Build and lead a high‑performing AI Center of Excellence with robust enterprise governance and best practices.
- Oversee the design, build, train, deploy and maintain of enterprise‑wide generative AI solutions including LLM integration, real‑time inference, and scalable ML pipelines.
- Oversee the AI initiative portfolio to ensure delivery of scalable, impactful solutions.
- Partner with business and IT leaders to identify and prioritize high‑value AI opportunities.
- Drive organizational readiness through enablement programs, training, and change management.
- Establish KPIs to measure AI impact on business outcomes, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Champion responsible AI practices and lead governance through the AI Council and Task Force.
- Manage team budgets and participate in financial reviews.
Skills You Will Need
- Strategic Vision & Execution: Craft and drive enterprise AI strategy aligned with business goals.
- Technical Acumen: Expert in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn), generative AI, LLM integration, ML Engineering and ML Ops practices; advanced experience with cloud platforms (GCP), containerization, CI/CD.
- Innovation & Change Management: Lead transformation initiatives with agility and a future‑focused mindset.
- Collaboration & Influence: Partner across functions and influence senior stakeholders to drive adoption.
Who You Are
- 12+ years of progressive experience within scaled Business Insights & Analytics organizations, including 5+ years leading and developing high‑performing teams.
- Retail industry experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrates a strong track record of influencing executive stakeholders and driving enterprise‑scale AI solutions.
- Possesses deep expertise in AI/ML technologies and governance frameworks.
- Exhibits strong business acumen and translates data into strategic insights.
- Lifelong learner who fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
- Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms; requires close vision.
