Position Overview
The Director of Sales & Strategic Alliances will join the senior leadership team and play a central role in evolving a modern media and membership‑driven organization. This role will lead revenue strategy, develop new partnership models, mentor sales professionals, and help define how brands connect with a national creative audience.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy & Media Monetization
- Develop and lead an integrated revenue strategy across digital media, publications, events, and community platforms
- Design and price modern advertising and sponsorship offerings, including display ads, sponsored content, and multi‑channel campaigns
- Build bundled solutions that combine media exposure, event activation, and membership value
- Establish scalable sales systems, processes, and forecasting models
Strategic Partnerships & Alliances
- Build long‑term relationships with industry partners across technology, creative services, and media sectors
- Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities aligned with organizational growth
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and events (approximately 10–12 trips annually)
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners seeking to engage with a national creative audience
Team Leadership & Sales Operations
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a consultative sales team focused on media and partnerships
- Create territory strategies, performance frameworks, and sales processes that drive results
- Lead with clarity, accountability, and collaborative energy
- Manage departmental budgets and operational resources
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, editorial, events, and membership teams to develop integrated offerings
- Participate in executive leadership discussions, strategic planning, and organizational initiatives
- Contribute innovative ideas to expand revenue opportunities and audience engagement
