Job Description
The Global Product Director (Stationary Refrigerants) leads overall portfolio strategy and profitability, driving pricing, margin improvement, product mix, and lifecycle decisions to maximize financial performance. This role manages end‑to‑end product performance—monitoring markets, customer needs, and competitive trends—while partnering closely with Sales, SIOP, Sourcing, and Marketing to ensure product availability, value creation, and growth within core markets. The Director also guides cost and value engineering initiatives, supports RFQs and tenders, and contributes to long‑term planning. In addition, this role plays a key leadership position in innovation by informing NPI strategy, ensuring new products meet pricing and margin targets, and managing asset capacity transitions from NPI to core portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Maximizes profitability of the portfolio
- Owns pricing, margin improvement, and lifecycle decisions (including 80/20 analysis)
- Makes product mix and plant capacity allocation decisions to optimize profit
- Identifies opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering
- Tracks raw material inflation with Sourcing and drive pass‑through pricing actions
- Executes pricing actions aligned with market shifts and cost changes
- Support SIOP process ensuring product availability and AOP attainment
- Performance Management
- Tracks product performance within current end‑markets: revenue, margin, pricing, market share
- Develops corrective actions for underperforming products
- Market & Customer Engagement
- Monitors customer feedback, market trends, competitive landscape for core products and end‑markets
- Growth of Core Products within Existing End‑markets
- Guides Sales on where to amplify or deprioritize focus
- Partners with Sales and Customer Marketing to drive adoption and share of demand
- Leads SPLs with Sales and Tech Service, and supports RFQs, Tenders to grow existing products and expand share in underserved regions
- Introduce new SKU variants to align with customer needs
- Supports AOP and STRAP planning processes
- Innovation Support
- Provides input to Strategic Marketing and NPI Marketing for future NPIs in core markets
- Serves as Gate Signoff on NPI projects for Gates 3 & 4: ensures NPI pricing, margin, and volume are aligned with portfolio strategy
- Allocates asset capacity for NPIs and supports new SKU setup
- Votes on transition timing for NPI products to core Product Management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related technical discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in the chemical industry, with significant exposure to product line ownership, business strategy, and international operations.
- Strong track record of leading P&L and delivering sustainable financial and operational results.

The annual base salary range for this position is $209,000 – $262,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
