Director of Quality and Compliance

Our client in the home textiles and consumer goods industry is looking for a Director of Quality Control & Compliance to join their team.

The Director will lead quality control and compliance initiatives across the organization, ensuring that all home textile products meet established quality, integrity, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate comes from a home or textile background and has experience working with major retailers such as Walmart, Costco, or Sam's Club.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control standards and testing protocols
  • Evaluate production operations from raw materials through finished goods to ensure compliance and functionality
  • Oversee quality inspections, documentation, and reporting to executive leadership
  • Manage team members handling vendor invoices and offshore supplier compliance
  • Maintain GOTS certification documentation including scope, transaction certificates, fabric content, origin, and destination
  • Review supplier capabilities and test reports in partnership with sourcing and compliance teams
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication across production, sourcing, and design teams
  • Recommend and approve operational or product changes based on quality assessments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial, Scientific, or related field
  • 8–10 years of experience in quality control, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Proven knowledge of quality control standards, methodologies, and retail compliance
  • Experience with wholesale distribution and production in home textiles
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Advanced Excel, PLM, and ERP experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for team training and leadership reporting
