A leading national financial services institution is seeking a Director of Benefits to lead the strategic design and evolution of one of the industry's most competitive employee benefits programs.

This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for shaping enterprise benefits strategy, partnering with senior HR and executive leadership, and delivering a world-class employee experience at scale.

If you are a strategic Total Rewards leader who can balance visionary strategy with flawless operational execution , this role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful impact for a large, complex workforce.

What You\'ll Do:

Lead Enterprise Benefits Strategy

  • Define the long-term benefits vision and roadmap aligned with workforce and business strategy

  • Evaluate workforce demographics, health data, and utilization patterns to optimize plan design

  • Present recommendations and investment strategies to senior leadership (CHRO, CFO, executive team)

Drive Innovation in Benefits Design

  • Monitor emerging trends across healthcare, retirement, wellness, and financial wellbeing

  • Introduce modern solutions leveraging technology, analytics, and AI-enabled insights

  • Ensure programs remain competitive, cost-effective, and differentiated in the market

Own Vendor Strategy & Partnerships

  • Lead vendor selection and negotiation across:

    • Medical

    • Dental / Vision

    • Pharmacy Benefit Managers

    • Retirement (401k)

    • Wellbeing providers

  • Build high-impact partnerships that drive innovation, service quality, and measurable outcomes

Deliver Operational Excellence

  • Oversee benefits administration and governance for a large workforce

  • Manage benefits budgets, forecasting, and actuarial analysis

  • Lead annual enrollment strategy and execution

  • Champion process improvements and scalable systems

Lead and Inspire a High-Performing Team

  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning

  • Coach and develop benefits professionals delivering exceptional service

  • Guide the organization through future benefits transformations

What We\'re Looking For:

15+ years in employee benefits leadership
7–10+ years leading enterprise benefits strategy
Experience in large, complex organizations
Expertise in self-insured health plans and claims analytics
Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA compliance
Proven ability to influence C-suite and executive leadership
Experience negotiating and managing major benefits vendors

Preferred:
CEBS or similar benefits certification

Compensation

Base Salary: $190k – $240k
Bonus Eligible
