
Head of Growth

We’re looking for a Head of Growth to build and scale the growth engine at a fast-growing FinTech startup serving small businesses across America.
Our customers are typically owner-operators and small teams with fewer than 10 employees who rely on practical financial tools to run their businesses. Success in this role requires someone who understands how to reach, educate, and convert non-technical small business owners and who has experience scaling adoption of technical or financial products for SMB audiences.
This role requires a true growth generalist—someone who understands the full growth stack and can combine multiple channels and strategies to drive results. We are not looking for a single-channel specialist (e.g., only paid ads, only SEO, or only lifecycle/email). Instead, we’re seeking a multi-faceted growth leader who has built and scaled growth systems across a variety of acquisition and engagement channels.
The ideal candidate has proven experience scaling venture-backed startups at the Series A–C stage and thrives in environments where experimentation, rapid iteration, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Own the Growth Strategy
- Define and execute the company’s end-to-end growth strategy across acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization.
- Identify scalable growth channels to reach small business owners and operator-led companies.
Build a Multi-Channel Growth Engine
- Design and scale growth strategies across multiple channels including paid acquisition, SEO, partnerships, content, lifecycle marketing, referrals, and product-led growth.
- Build integrated growth programs that combine channels rather than relying on a single tactic.
Acquire and Grow SMB Customers
- Develop strategies to acquire small businesses with fewer than 10 employees across underserved markets.
- Create messaging and funnels that successfully communicate technical or financial products to non-technical decision-makers.
- Build and lead a structured experimentation framework to test new growth opportunities.
- Use data to prioritize initiatives and continuously optimize the growth funnel.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with product, marketing, and engineering teams to improve onboarding, product adoption, and customer experience.
- Work directly with company leadership to align growth strategy with company objectives.
Build the Growth Function
- Establish the processes, systems, and team needed to support long-term scalable growth.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and data-driven decision making.
Requirements
Startup Growth Leadership
- Proven experience scaling growth at venture-backed startups (Series A–C).
- Experience building growth systems in fast-moving early-stage environments.
- Demonstrated success driving growth across multiple channels, not just one.
- Experience combining tactics such as paid acquisition, SEO, lifecycle marketing, partnerships, referrals, and product-led growth.
Data-Driven Operator
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to guide growth decisions.
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, funnel analysis, and growth analytics tools.
Builder Mindset
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments.
- Hands-on leader who can both set strategy and execute.
