LeafSpring School at Charter Colony , an accredited preschool located in Midlothian, VA, is seeking a Director for our Before/After School , School‑Age Summer Camp , and Elementary School Programs . We are looking for an experienced, creative, passionate, and flexible individual to lead, support, manage, and guide our growing school.
Responsibilities Include
- Overseeing operations to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
- Building strong relationships with families and staff.
- Recruiting, hiring, counseling, training, and managing all personnel.
- Maintaining and managing enrollment.
- Ensuring program quality.
- Creating and managing budgets.
- Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Candidate Must Possess the Following
- A strong commitment to early education and school‑aged recreation.
- Top‑notch customer service skills.
- An upbeat, positive attitude and work ethic in a fast‑paced environment.
- Expert computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft products and child management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s Degree in early or elementary education, child development, or another child‑related field, with a minimum of two years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in early or elementary education, child development, or another child‑related field, with a minimum of five years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
Other:
- A genuine love for children and an ability to relate well to them, their families, and teachers.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in an early educational, elementary, or recreational setting.
- Demonstrated team‑building accomplishments, fostering group collaboration toward common goals.
- Previous experience in a NAEYC‑accredited program is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or the ability to obtain certification upon hire).
