Job Summary

A Westside real estate company is looking for a Director of Accounting to join their team. The Director of Accounting will be responsible for property analysis, analyzing financials, financial reporting, some journal entries, and managing the audit. To be successful in this role, the Director of Accounting must be analytical and have great communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
• 10+ years of accounting experience
• MUST have people management experience
• MUST have real estate experience
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Active CPA preferred
• Advanced Excel

Responsibilities

• Oversee property management accounting functions.
• Manage, mentor, and develop staff.
• Review and analyze financial results of third-party managed properties; communicate findings and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Conduct financial analysis for various properties.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of GAAP financial statements, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and other management reporting as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to enhance financial processes and reporting.
• Contribute to the implementation and adherence of full GAAP accounting standards.
