Finance Director

We are seeking a hands‑on, strategic Finance Director to build and lead the regional finance function. Reporting directly to the North America CEO (with dotted‑line exposure to global finance leadership), this individual will act as both a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves accounting leader deeply involved in day‑to‑day operations and a strategic advisor and thought partner to the CEO during a high‑growth phase.

In this lean regional structure, the successful candidate will be comfortable operating in both detailed execution and executive‑level strategy. The current team includes a Financial Controller and accounting support based internationally, with plans to gradually build a small regional team over time.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership

• Serve as financial architect and trusted advisor to the CEO.
• Provide independent perspective and constructive challenge in executive decision‑making.
• Support market expansion analysis across Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
• Lead financial modeling, capital planning, and growth strategy evaluation.

Financial & Operational Leadership

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Manage multi‑entity and cross‑border operations.
• Direct tax strategy, compliance, and external audit processes.
• Lead banking relationships, treasury management, and foreign currency exposure.
• Support acquisitions, due diligence, and new market entry initiatives.

Systems & Infrastructure

• Lead SAP implementation and establish scalable reporting systems.
• Build internal controls and governance frameworks appropriate for rapid growth.
• Develop a lean but high‑performing finance organization.

Hands‑On Execution

• Engage directly in accounting operations, exports, foreign currency, and regional tax considerations.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting, KPI analysis, and executive dashboards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• CPA required.
• 5–10+ years of experience at Controller level or above.
• Background in lubricants, oil & gas, energy distribution, or related industrial sectors strongly preferred.
• Experience in entrepreneurial or mid‑size organizations (not solely large multinationals).
• Direct SAP implementation experience required.
• Strong understanding of cross‑border finance and international expansion.
• Bilingual Spanish highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
