
Director of Finance

The Temporary Director of Finance provides interim leadership and oversight of the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cash management. This role supports executive leadership by maintaining financial stability during a transitional period and ensuring all regulatory, payroll, and financial reporting obligations are met.
The Temporary Director of Finance works closely with senior leadership to review financial performance, monitor liquidity, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements , including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
- Conduct independent analysis of financial reports to identify inconsistencies, risks, or inaccuracies.
- Support leadership with financial forecasting and liquidity planning .
- Review and monitor affiliate transactions and intercompany accounts .
- Maintain financial reporting tools and internal reporting systems.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Review daily cash balances and cash forecasts .
- Monitor expected deposits and withdrawals to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Evaluate timing and urgency of line of credit withdrawals when needed.
Payroll & Expense Oversight
- Oversee weekly payroll processing , expense reimbursements, and time‑off approvals.
- Maintain payroll reporting and reconciliation documentation.
- Coordinate with HR on payroll system administration and compensation grid updates.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Ensure completion and submission of required regulatory filings and financial reports.
- Support 401(k) audit documentation and deliverables .
- Oversee required government filings such as:
- Sales and administrative fee reports
- Property tax filings
- EEO-1 reporting
- Monitor compliance with financial policies and accounting standards.
Accounts & Financial Controls
- Review accounts receivable aging and risk analysis .
- Monitor account balances and credit/debit discrepancies.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal financial controls.
Operational & Cross-Functional Support
- Provide financial guidance to internal teams and operational leaders.
- Assist with implementation of financial reporting tools and dashboards.
- Support operational reporting related to inventory and site availability.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison to executive leadership during the interim period.
- Coordinate financial reviews and reporting discussions with leadership.
- Support departmental planning and budgeting activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience .
- Experience overseeing financial statements, cash management, and compliance reporting .
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls .
- Experience with payroll systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Compensation
$60 to $65 an hour
