Consumer Lender
Southwest Louisiana Credit Union, Ville Platte, LA, United States
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Consumer Loan Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for members seeking personal, auto, and specialty loans. You will guide members through the lending process, analyze financial data to make sound credit decisions, and help them achieve their financial goals, fostering long-term relationships with the credit union.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional member service by explaining loan options, rates, and terms.
Review incoming loan applications for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all data is correct.
Analyze credit reports, income, and debt-to-income ratios to evaluate creditworthiness within assigned lending limits and credit union policies.
Prepare loan documents, ensure all stipulations are met, and finalize loan closings with accuracy.
Proactively engage with members to identify needs for additional financial products and services.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of experience in consumer or mortgage lending.
Strong knowledge of lending products, practices, and regulations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and loan origination software preferred.
