Position Overview We are seeking an

experienced Outside Sales Representative

to join our team. This role focuses on building strong relationships with contractors, builders, and industry professionals while growing sales in lumber and building materials. The ideal candidate already has

experience in outside sales within construction, building materials, or a related industry

and understands the needs of professional customers.

This position is relationship-driven and requires someone who is proactive, knowledgeable, and comfortable managing accounts while developing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, and construction professionals

Grow sales by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities

Manage and expand an existing book of business

Provide product knowledge and solutions for lumber and building material needs

Prepare quotes, follow up on bids, and close sales

Coordinate with inside sales and yard teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment

Stay informed on market trends, product knowledge, and competitor offerings

Represent the company professionally at job sites and customer locations

Qualifications

Required:

Previous outside sales experience in lumber, building materials, construction supply, or a closely related industry

Strong understanding of residential or light commercial construction materials

Proven ability to develop relationships and grow accounts

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and follow up on opportunities

Valid driver’s license

Preferred

Existing relationships with local contractors or builders

Knowledge of lumberyard operations or building supply distribution
