The Impact You’ll Make As a Field Sales Representative in 3M’s Consumer Business Group Home Improvement Division, you will drive sales and revenue, manage opportunities, and build relationships with end users.
Responsibilities
Drive 3M sales and revenue in assigned distribution territories.
Manage multiple active sales opportunities at several end‑user sites.
Establish and maintain customer relationships through deep understanding of customer business models.
Introduce new products and communicate promotions to relevant customers and prospects.
Present and reinforce the 3M value proposition to differentiate 3M from competitors.
Maintain and update a working sales plan with strategies and tactics to achieve annual forecasts.
Share best practices with the team to promote a positive environment.
Use company vehicle; subject to vehicle history review.
Skills and Expertise
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Minimum 1 year of combined experience in Outside Sales/Inside Sales in a private, public, government or military environment.
Valid driver’s license.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed:
Account management experience; Salesforce.com experience desired.
Solution selling, listening skills, and ability to gain commitment.
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
Strong organizational skills and high productivity in field and home office.
Previous home‑improvement / construction experience preferred.
Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
Travel & Relocation
Travel may include up to 50% domestic.
Not authorized for relocation assistance.
Legal and Compliance Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
