Position Summary
The Wide Format Digital Press Trainee is an entry-level position responsible for learning and assisting in the operation of wide format digital printing equipment. This role supports the production team in producing high-quality printed graphics, signage, and related products while developing the skills needed to become a fully independent operator. This position pays $15 to $18 an hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the setup and operation of wide format digital printers (roll-to-roll, flatbed, etc.) Learn proper material handling including vinyl, banner, rigid substrates, and specialty media Load and unload materials and printed products safely and efficiently Support print production by preparing files, checking layouts, and staging jobs Monitor print quality and report any defects or inconsistencies Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning under supervision Assist with finishing tasks such as trimming, laminating, and mounting Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all company safety procedures and production guidelines Work collaboratively with production, design, and installation teams Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in printing, manufacturing, or production is required Advanced computer skills and willingness to learn print software and equipment Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to read and interpret job tickets and work instructions Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills required Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of large print materials Work Schedule
Full-time position Overtime may be required based on production needs Compensation
Hourly position (based on experience) $15 to $18 an hour Opportunity for advancement to Wide Format Digital Operator
