Chicago - Licensed Customs Broker

Manage and oversee the customs clearance process for import shipments across air, ocean, and ground modes
Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other government agencies
Review, prepare, and submit entry documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees
Act as the primary point of contact for CBP inquiries, audits, and requests for information
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing import/export regulations and trade compliance requirements
Advise internal teams and clients on customs regulations, duty minimization strategies, and compliance best practices
Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies efficiently
Collaborate with operations, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless shipment processing
Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or import compliance
Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and PGA (Participating Government Agencies) requirements
Experience with freight forwarding operations (air and ocean imports preferred)
Proficiency in customs brokerage software (e.g., CargoWise or similar systems)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and government agencies
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
