Summary Description You will be responsible for coordinating all direct sales activities relative to those accounts and prospective accounts found within the assigned area of responsibility. Maintaining regular contact with those accounts and prospective accounts in an effort to grow existing businesses and to also seek out new products and service opportunities. Strive continuously to enhance Sonoco’s overall position in all served markets and potential markets.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage existing book of business, developing strategies to maintain and expand Sonoco's share while also prospecting with regularity and discipline
Deliver a minimum of $1MM+ per year of net profitable growth through share-gain at existing customers
Deliver a minimum of $1MM+ per year of net profitable growth through new business earned outside of existing customer network
Strong multi-channel prospecting strategies and cadence, driven by proven success of onboarding new customers, tracks prospecting actives in detail
Proficient with technology and management of - remote meetings, Microsoft, CRM, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Vidyard
Manage working capital to meet division goals. This includes inventory management and accounts receivable.
Develop strategies to maximize profitability of your business portfolio
Provides marketing with input for use in developing strategic plans and develops account plans that are consistent with overall division strategies.
Monitors closely all activity at each customer and prospective customer location and reports on expansions, closings, business trends, and all other factors impacting volume levels.
Maintains detailed customer files (share, relative quality, relative price, specifications, contacts, competitor, etc.) on an ongoing basis.
Establishes and maintains multi-level contacts at all major existing and prospective accounts. Believes in the value of deep and wide relationships, expanding relationships well beyond themselves.
Communicates all pertinent information involving assigned accounts and prospective accounts to appropriate personnel through call reports
Develops and maintains complete list of prospective customers found within assigned area of responsibility.
Provides immediate supervisor with sales projections for products and customers within assigned area of responsibility for use in developing sales budgets.
Investigates promptly and accurately customer complaints and coordinates the resolution of these complaints to the complete satisfaction of these accounts.
Assists division marketing with trade shows, conventions, and trade association meetings as requested.
Assists, as needed, with the training of division sales and marketing personnel
Submits expense reports, reports of call, and itineraries on a weekly basis and all other reports on schedule.
Promotes company goodwill and maintains proper relationships with customers and prospective customers.
Protects assets, confidential and restricted information, developments, specifications, materials, legal obligations, and other such data in contacts with external parties.
Complies with all company policies.
This is a remote position. Ideal candidates will be in the Eastern half of the US.

5+ years of packaging industry and market experience
Must have good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Compensation The annual base salary range for this role is from $111,825 to $134,190
