
HPF Market Segment Manager, A&D

The HPF Market Segment Manager position is accountable for the strategic development, tactical execution, coordination, and support of the Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring Vertical in USCA, activities across the HPF Segment and profitably growing Sherwin-Williams share of the flooring coatings market by effectively aligning resources with opportunities.

This is a remote position and will be expected to travel at least 30% of the time. This position can be located anywhere throughout the US.

Joint development of strategic market plan(s) that supports the organizational strategy specific to the Architect and Designer (A&D) Community; Interaction with Market Segment Managers, Technical Service, Sales, R&D, Product Management, Enterprise Specifications Group and Finance Managers; Generate product, system, and sustainability strategies and hierarchies that support product life cycle and innovation necessary for industry leadership; Possess a firm understanding of and maintain a consistent line of sight with industry/market trends; Provide innovation that meets the desired direction the industry is evolving towards or shifts the industry towards our desired outcome; Provide competitive analysis that highlights our specific competitive advantages and how to accelerate our focus market growth. Products and Systems
Develop business cases for new product and/or system specifications and development in collaboration with Sales and Technical (Including oversight for required product testing or 3rd party testing for specification approvals);
Oversee 3rd party paperwork for new and existing products in respect to EPDs, CDPHs, BABA, HPDs, and any other programs
Manage BIM Objects, Dodge BI, Material Bank, ARCAT, RIB, AceLab, MasterSpec and all other identified programs as it relates to HPF inclusion Provide market/customer focused direction for Technical, based on targeted or on-going VoC interactions; Support customer trial and adoption of products (including technical assistance and service); Champion allocation of technical resources for short-term and long-term development; Support the required volume of trials during the field trial phase of product development; As necessary, interact with raw material supplier to learn about advancement and new technologies that can be utilized to solve focus market segment problems; Generate product or system recommendations that meet the service environment/life expectations of the focus market customers; Generate individual or full palette color recommendations that meet the trending demands in the built environment Provide comprehensive insight regarding competitive product or system offerings and required gaps that need to be filled to improve our right to success. Communications
Event (trade show) support;
Support the creation or contribution to effective sales and marketing tools, CEUs, collateral, website, social media platforms and events;
Deliver market, color and product training through formal repetitive sessions combined with informal field participation that considers methods that best engage the audience;
Provide enterprise-wide market direction, intelligence, initiatives, and global engagement;
Participate in frequent and effective communication with all levels of sales supported by geographic or sub-segment assignment.
Leadership
Participate in committees that drive focus market direction;
Assume leadership roles to guide the flooring industry and relevant organizations;
Track and report HPF business development activities and results;
Influence the entire ecosystem of a focus market segment through thought leadership (Including practices, processes, and products) with technical papers, white papers, technical presentations, etc.
Minimum Requirements: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.) Must have a valid, unrestricted drivers license. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have specific knowledge of flooring products (internal and external), flooring submarkets (M&P, HVI, Residential) and flooring contractor base. Have one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook). Must be able to travel 30%. Preferred Qualifications: Have a bachelors degree or higher in Interior Design or Architecture or 5 years experience in the A&D field Have experience with Color Marketing Have CDT Certification Have LEED Green Associate Have WELL AP Have Fitwel Ambassador Have AAMP CCI Have experience with Adobe Suite (Editor, Illustrator and InDesign)
