A large and progressive farm operation is seeking a
Crop Scout / Field Agronomist
to support crop production across row crop and vegetable acres. This role focuses on monitoring crop health, identifying potential issues, and supporting farm managers with agronomic insights throughout the growing season.
Responsibilities
Conduct crop scouting across row crop and vegetable fields
Monitor crop development, plant health, and field conditions
Identify pests, diseases, weed pressure, and nutrient deficiencies
Perform soil sampling and plant tissue sampling for agronomic analysis
Prepare and organize soil samples for submission to agronomy labs
Assist with soil test interpretation and agronomic recordkeeping
Maintain crop scouting reports and field records
Communicate field observations and potential crop issues to farm managers
Support fertility planning and crop management decisions
Assist with agronomy data collection and field mapping
Qualifications
Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Agriculture, or related field preferred
Experience with crop scouting, soil sampling, agronomy, or farm production strongly preferred
Familiarity with soil testing procedures and agronomic lab processes
Knowledge of row crops, vegetable crops, plant nutrition, and crop health indicators
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong observation, communication, and recordkeeping skills
Ability to work independently in a field-based role
