
Manager, Key Account (Natural Gas Utilities)

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Key Account Manager manages and coordinates activities and contracts associated with large-volume commercial and industrial customers receiving natural gas services from Delta Utilities. This role serves as a business development lead, account manager, and customer liaison, ensuring customer satisfaction, margin growth, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Build and maintain strong relationships with key energy decision-makers within end-use customer organizations and third-party marketers/agents
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customer operations, market conditions, and potential opportunities for Delta Utilities to provide value-added services
Prepare proposals, negotiate agreements, and finalize contracts for natural gas service, including tariff and market rate agreements
Conduct financial analyses for potential projects using tools, such as the NOMAD investment model and allowable investment calculations
Collaborate with regional engineering and gas supply teams to analyze and support facilities construction and installation projects
Actively promote Delta Energy Resources and other sales initiatives to encourage load-building and customer expansion
Participate in professional and trade organizations to strengthen industry relationships and identify growth opportunities
Manage curtailment communications with Dual Fuel and Firm/Interruptible customers, ensuring accurate agreements and contact information
Provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries and resolve issues related to service, billing, and regulatory compliance
Maintain a detailed understanding of regional interstate and intrastate pipeline services, as well as general knowledge of natural gas pricing and industry strategies
Work closely with transportation services administration to monitor transport imbalances, address nomination issues, and ensure system supply integrity
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum experience required of the position
Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, or energy industry-related roles
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities preferred of the position
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
Ability to analyze financial and operational data to support decision-making
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of natural gas tariffs, contracts, and regulatory requirements preferred
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Physical Requirements
Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
Able to sit for extended periods of time.
Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
