At Drum Creative, we are looking for an SEO Strategist who understands that modern search is about authority, technical architecture, and business outcomes. This role will help clients grow through strategy that aligns search visibility with real conversions.

The ideal candidate understands how AI-powered search, structured data, and technical SEO shape the future of discovery. You will work closely with our web development, strategy, and content teams to ensure search strategy is built into every project from the very beginning of our website development.

This is a strategic and technical role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and translating search insights into measurable business results.

Role Description You will lead modern SEO strategy that connects search visibility to real business outcomes. Instead of chasing vanity metrics like traffic and impressions, you will work backward from client goals to identify the search opportunities that drive qualified leads, engagement, and conversions. Your strategies will prioritize lower-funnel intent and help clients capture users who are ready to take action.

You will partner closely with our web development team to ensure SEO is integrated into site architecture from the very beginning. This includes helping define structured data, semantic relationships, and technical frameworks that allow search engines and AI systems to clearly understand the content and authority of each website we build. Technical SEO will be treated as a foundation rather than an afterthought.

You will guide content strategy by identifying keyword clusters, entities, and topical authority opportunities that shape how content is structured across a site. Working alongside our copywriter, you will help develop content plans that answer real search intent and build authority around key topics. This includes developing category hubs and supporting content that strengthens search relevance over time.

You will also help build authority signals that strengthen our clients’ credibility online. This includes structuring author pages, supporting expertise signals, and identifying opportunities for earned media and PR that contribute to expertise, authority, and trust.

Because search is rapidly evolving, you will continually adapt strategies to align with AI-powered search experiences. You will use modern tools and data sources to analyze competitive landscapes, identify emerging opportunities, and ensure our clients remain visible in a changing search environment.

Finally, you will collaborate closely with our strategy and creative teams. By participating in StoryBrand strategy sessions, you will gain a deep understanding of client goals and messaging, then translate those insights into search strategies that shape site architecture, content planning, and long-term authority building.

Required Experience

10+ years developing and executing SEO strategies.

Strong technical SEO experience, including site architecture, structured data, and indexation.

Experience with modern SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or similar platforms.

Ability to analyze search data and translate insights into strategic recommendations.

Technical Understanding

Experience working with CMS platforms, particularly WordPress.

Understanding of structured data, schema markup, and semantic search concepts.

Strategic Thinking

Ability to connect SEO strategy to real business outcomes.

Experience building topical authority through content clusters and category structures.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain search strategy to clients and team members.

Bonus Experience

Experience with structured data frameworks and knowledge graph development.

Familiarity with LLM-driven search and AI search experiences.

Technical development background or experience collaborating closely with developers.
