About This Role
Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join the US Research Pathology team. You will provide people management, strategic business support, technical leadership and hands‑on participation in preclinical research studies. What You Will Do
Drive the development of pathology research operating procedures to assure reproducible and high-quality output. Develop both short-term and long-term project management execution strategies to assure compliance and client satisfaction. Foster strong client relationships at both the project and senior/executive level to promote client retention and enhance prospective business opportunities. Establish and manage departmental budget. Manage and develop a team of Pathologist Technicians in Worcester, MA lab and a remote Veterinary Pathologist, and contractors as needed to ensure performance meets and/or exceeds business objectives. Participate in and oversee work of team members engaged in macroscopic and microscopic tissue evaluation and interpretation of assigned studies. Perform and oversee gross and microscopic evaluation of tissues, recording results, preparing reports delineating pathological findings, and assisting with necropsy supervision. Participate in and oversee writing of comprehensive report narratives detailing all test article effects. As needed, work with study directors to ensure data is accurately integrated into study reports. Oversee surgery‑histology coordination, including but not limited to validation of tissues to be harvested, harvesting and fixation procedures for each study, and delivery of information to surgeons and technicians. Provide scientific expertise for experimental design and other aspects of research studies as needed. Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in veterinary medicine and ACVP certification in Veterinary Pathology Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including 5 years’ experience as a people manager overseeing remote teams Medical Device pathology experience preferred. 20% travel requirement, primarily domestic. Travel is required at least once a month and potentially more if necessary. Location
