Job Summary:

The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) Regional Sales Manager – Kansas City, Kansas will join a global, multi‑site business unit that designs and manufactures uninterruptible power systems for critical industrial applications. The selected candidate will actively promote, apply, and sell Industrial UPS equipment to EPC customers in Kansas City. The selected candidate will need to effectively visit EPC customers in a consultative sales role. This Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the preparation of complex technical and commercial proposals, coordinating with engineering, procurement, finance, and legal teams. The RSM will be responsible for driving revenue growth by securing contracts, typically for conventional energy plants. This role involves managing the full project lifecycle, building client relationships, and coordinating technical proposals. Significant sales growth in the defined territory is expected. This position will report to the Central Region Sales Manager.

This position is located in Kansas City, Kansas. Limited travel, as this position is focusing on Kansas City's Engineering, Procurrement and Construction Customers.

Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Business Development

Develop and execute a territory strategy to accelerate EPC sales and maximize margins

Build and manage a strong pipeline and provide accurate forecasting

Exceed annual sales goals through proactive opportunity development

Customer Engagement

Serve as the primary point of contact for EPC clients, spending up to 75% of your time face‑to‑face with customers

Conduct onsite visits, technical presentations, and Lunch & Learns

Understand customer needs and apply our electrical solutions to their applications

Proposal & Project Collaboration

Lead preparation of complex technical and commercial proposals

Coordinate cross‑functionally with engineering, procurement, finance, contracts, and operations teams

Manage RFQ pricing, negotiations, and customer deliverables

Market & Internal Alignment

Maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers at EPC firms

Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings

Collaborate closely with internal AMETEK sales teams

Keep CRM records accurate and complete weekly sales reporting

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of capital equipment sales (value greater than $100K USD) in highly competitive markets

Knowledge of electric power generation and industrial UPS Systems

Knowledge of industrial battery technologies

EPC firm experience – power generation / oil & gas / infrastructure

Industrial electrical equipment knowledge and ability to review electrical one‑line drawings

A Bachelor’s Degree (or local equivalent) in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred

5+ years related post‑secondary experience with selling industrial capital equipment, preferably electrical solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Proven track record of success using a consultive sales approach

Excellent communication, networking and relationship‑builing skills

Strong organizational, problem‑solving and leadership abilites

Self‑directed and comfortable enaging with all levels of customer and internal organizations

Resilient, motiviated and adaptable - triving in a fast‑paced environment

Proficiency with Outlook, Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office suite

Experience with industrial UPS systems a strong plus

Compensation Employee Type: Salaried

Salary Minimum: $120,000

Salary Maximum: $130,000
