Senior Director of Supply Chain

The Senior Director of Supply Chain is responsible for leading and optimizing end‑to‑end supply chain operations within a defense manufacturing environment. This role provides strategic leadership across procurement, sourcing, planning, logistics, and supplier management while ensuring compliance with defense contracts, regulatory requirements, and customer commitments. The position partners closely with operations, engineering, quality, and program leadership to ensure on‑time, compliant, and cost‑effective delivery of defense products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead supply chain strategy and execution across procurement, sourcing, planning, inventory, and logistics
  • Own end‑to‑end supply chain management , including supplier development, strategic sourcing , and material flow from demand planning through delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to improve cost, quality, delivery, and resiliency
  • Provide strategic leadership and governance to ensure compliance with defense contracts and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with ITAR, FAR, and DFARS requirements , including supplier flow‑downs and contract obligations
  • Establish and enforce supply chain processes that support ITAR‑controlled materials, data, and programs
  • Oversee supplier selection, performance, risk management, and long‑term supplier partnerships
  • Partner with program, operations, quality, and engineering teams to support production schedules and delivery commitments
  • Manage supply chain risk, material availability, and long‑lead components
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain leadership and functional teams
  • Monitor and report supply chain KPIs related to cost, delivery, quality, and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience , including senior leadership responsibility
  • Direct experience supporting and managing defense contracts within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ITAR, FAR, and DFARS , including compliance, audits, and supplier oversight
  • Experience operating in highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing multi‑functional supply chain teams
  • Experience driving strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration, decision‑making, and executive communication skills
