
Director of Manufacturing Technology

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and integration of manufacturing technology systems within a production environment. The position ensures that shop floor equipment, automation platforms, and enterprise applications operate as a connected ecosystem that supports efficient operations, reliable data flow, and scalable growth. The role partners with engineering, operations, and IT teams to align physical production processes with digital systems and analytics platforms. Responsibilities include evaluating standard software solutions, guiding custom development when necessary, and establishing technical standards across manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead architecture and integration of manufacturing technology platforms such as MES, ERP, quality, maintenance, and related systems
Manage and mentor technical team members supporting manufacturing applications and automation systems
Define and maintain data standards across automation and enterprise systems
Coordinate technical efforts between operations, engineering, and IT stakeholders
Evaluate commercial solutions and oversee development of custom integrations or tools when required
Support implementation of modern industrial technologies, connectivity frameworks, and data platforms
Ensure reliable communication between equipment level controls and higher level business systems
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field such as engineering, computer science, information systems, or similar preferred
Several years of experience in manufacturing systems, industrial automation, or digital transformation environments
Prior leadership or team management experience
Experience integrating multiple manufacturing and enterprise systems
Understanding of shop floor controls, supervisory systems, and production execution platforms
Familiarity with industry standards, communication protocols, and data integration concepts
Experience with modern software development practices and system architectures
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel as needed
Ability to work in an industrial environment and perform routine physical activities as required
