Cnc Machinist
The CNC Machinist is primarily responsible for operating CNC milling machines (Haas mostly) to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. This role may also involve operating CNC lathes and/or other manual equipment. This is a full-time position working at our Cranston facility. Pay: Starting from $25.00 per hour depending on experience Essential Functions: 1. Daily Operation: Receive work instructions from supervisor/planner or follow posted schedule. Review work orders to understand job requirements. Notify supervisor of any errors or issues prior to starting. Set up machines per instructions and/or standard practices. This may include loading new tools, replacing used ones as needed, and mounting fixtures/jigs. Operate machines to produce parts. Monitor machine operations to maintain product quality and output. Maintain equipment/tooling as needed/instructed. 2. Quality Control: Inspect finished products for conformance to provided specifications. Make necessary adjustments to correct any deviations. Report any non-conformities or issues in the production process to the supervisor. Document excessive non-conformance issues as required. 3. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Follow established procedures and standard practices for operating CNC milling machines. Comply with relevant regulations and standards governing the manufacturing process. 4. Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members to ensure efficient production. Communicate effectively with colleagues to address any issues. 5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains. Provide input on tooling and equipment upgrades to enhance productivity. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Minimum 3 years' experience as a CNC machinist in a manufacturing environment. Knowledgeable in the use of measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.). Strong attention to detail and desire to produce high-quality work. Knowledge of safety standards and a commitment to workplace safety. Preferred Qualifications (includes all above): 5+ years' experience as a CNC machinist in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of basic shop math (including trigonometry) Understanding and comprehension of blueprints / engineering drawings. Knowledge of machine tooling, materials, and machining processes. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Any vocational or technical training would be a plus. Physical Requirements: This role may require standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental factors. Reaching or bending while loading machines on a regular basis. Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
